A surface-mounted fountain attaches to the wall surface, with the entire unit body and plumbing connections visible or enclosed in a surface-mounted cabinet. Recessed units provide a cleaner appearance and reduce projection into the room.
2. Does installation require a wall cavity of a specific depth?
Yes. The recessed design requires a wall cavity depth of approximately 250mm (10 inches) to accommodate the basin, valve assembly, supply line, P-trap, and drain connection. For walls with insufficient cavity depth, a surface-mounted configuration is available as an alternative. Detailed cavity dimension requirements are provided in the rough-in drawings supplied with each order.
3. Can the bottle filler be added to an existing recessed fountain installation?
The bottle filler is integrated into the face plate during manufacturing. Retrofitting a bottle filler to an existing unit that was not originally specified with one requires a face plate replacement. We provide replacement face plates with bottle filler integration for units already installed, subject to compatibility verification.
4. What filter system is compatible with this fountain?
An inline carbon block filter with standard 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch connections is compatible. The filter housing is installed within the wall cavity on the supply line upstream of the fountain valve. Filter replacement intervals depend on water usage and supply water quality; the optional filter status indicator provides a visual alert when replacement is due.
